This past Sunday, November 5th, we had the privilege of participating in the Kathin Festival at Phu Ongka temple. The Kathin festival marks the end of Vassa, the monsoon season, and provides an opportunity for people to show their appreciation and gratitude to the monks. This year, at the Phu Ongka temple, all donations will be used to build a new kitchen and bathroom on temple grounds. We were honored to be invited as the guest of honor, and donated a refrigerator, sink, large rice cooker, pots and pans to be installed or used in the new kitchen. We had a great experience connecting with different people from the community, taking part in local traditions, and tasting their food! Ultimately, we remain committed to giving back to the local community in different ways and look forward to other opportunities as well.
